"Xiaomi" is well known to our compatriots for its many smartphones offering an unbeatable price/quality ratio. Unfortunately, in the European market, the company is increasingly trying to focus on the higher price segment, so the range of cheap phones in our region is much smaller than in Asian countries. However, Xiaomi's subsidiary company Redmi has not forgotten its roots and has introduced the new champion of the budget price category, Redmi 9T, to the international market.
More about Redmi 9T
As you might expect, the design of the device is not extravagant. We won't find a metal frame here, nor the usual glass back in more expensive models - the entire body of the Redmi 9T is made of good old plastic, the texture of which is chosen so that it slips as little as possible from the palm and is resistant to scratches and impacts. However, the bright colors and the very large "Redmi" logo attract the eye. By the way, although the phone does not have an official IP certificate, the manufacturer claims that it is covered with a special coating that protects against water splashes.
A 6.53-inch diagonal IPS technology screen is mounted on the front of the device, the resolution of which corresponds to the FHD+ standard. It is very important to mention that despite the low price, Redmi managed to get the prestigious German TUV Rheinland certificate - it guarantees that the phone's screen emits very little blue light and thus protects our eyes. At the same time, the selfie camera is mounted in a drop-shaped cutout, which is not very eye-catching.
The manufacturer is very proud that he managed to install not MediaTek, but the mid-range Snapdragon 662 chip, which saw the light of day in 2020, in the Redmi 9T. These sixth series Qualcomm processors are famous in the market for their excellent speed and extremely low energy consumption. Smooth operation of the smartphone will also be ensured by 4 or 6GB of RAM and 64 or 128GB of internal memory. The phone also has a 3.5mm headphone jack and an IR transmitter, and the manufacturer also emphasizes Hi-Res quality stereo speakers, which we would not even find in all flagships today.
On the camera front, as you might expect, it's decided to go the usual route again and install as many lenses as possible. There are even 4 sensors on the back - surprisingly high-quality 48MP f/1.8 main, 8MP f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle and two 2MP sensors - macro and depth. The resolution of the front camera reaches 8MP.
Be that as it may, the main horse of the Redmi 9T is grazing in a completely different place. The company installed a battery with a hard-to-understand 6000mAh capacity in the phone, which is almost 2000mAh more than the batteries installed in flagships. With an efficient chip and resource-saving software in mind, you can expect almost 3 days of operation on a single charge. By the way, the latter is also not one of the slowest - its power reaches 18W. By the way, "Redmi" promises that the battery will be extremely long-lasting and will perform its job well even for 4 years.
The price of "Redmi 9T" in Europe should be really Christian . The 4/64GB version will cost 159 euros, while the 4/128GB version will cost 189 euros. The market will also offer a special version of Redmi 9T with NFC connection, which is required for mobile payments. It will cost 10 euros more.
